1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Traffic Cameras UK ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Traffic Cameras UK provides access to traffic camera imagery from UK motorways and major roads. We aggregate publicly available camera feeds to help users check road conditions.

Our Service includes:

  • Road browsing: View cameras organised by road (available to all users)
  • Interactive map: View all cameras on a map (requires free account)
  • Custom views: Save favourite cameras and organise them into personalised views for quick access (Supporter and above)

Camera images are sourced from the following third-party providers:

These providers may add, remove, or temporarily disable cameras at any time without notice to us. Camera availability and image quality are entirely outside our control.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees. All prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.

Subscription Tiers

We offer several subscription tiers with different features and limits. See our pricing page for current tiers and pricing. Feature limits (such as the number of custom views or cameras per view) vary by tier.

Downgrading

If you downgrade to a lower tier or cancel your subscription, your custom views and other saved data are retained. However, you will not be able to access features beyond your new tier's limits until you upgrade again. We do not delete your data when you downgrade.

Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time through your account settings — your access will continue until the end of your current billing period.

Refund Policy

All subscription payments are non-refundable. When you subscribe, you gain immediate access to paid features, and we cannot offer refunds for:

  • Change of mind or deciding the Service isn't for you after subscribing
  • Misunderstanding what features are included in your subscription tier — please review the pricing page and help section before subscribing
  • Cameras being removed, relocated, or taken offline by the external providers (National Highways, Traffic Scotland, Traffic Wales, TrafficWatch NI)
  • Temporary service interruptions or maintenance periods
  • Forgetting to cancel before your subscription renewed
  • Unused time remaining on your subscription after cancellation

You can cancel at any time and continue using the Service until your billing period ends. If you're unsure whether a subscription is right for you, we recommend starting with a monthly plan rather than committing to an annual subscription.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute camera images without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use automated tools to excessively request camera images or other data

6. User Content

You may create custom nicknames for cameras within your custom views. This user-generated content is private to your account and is not shared with other users.

You are responsible for any content you create. While nicknames are private, you agree not to use the Service to store content that is unlawful, offensive, or violates the rights of others.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding camera images from third parties) are owned by Traffic Cameras UK and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Camera imagery remains the property of the respective highway authorities and camera operators.

Crown Copyright

Traffic camera images are Crown Copyright and are provided under licence by the service providers, acting under delegated licensing authority from the Controller of His Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO).

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of camera feeds. Traffic conditions may change rapidly, and you should not rely solely on this Service for travel decisions. Always drive safely and follow official road signs and guidance.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Traffic Cameras UK shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
